Clara's Story

2022: Clara relaunched the Oceania Marina in 2021 and returned home in the Spring of 2022 to enjoy family.

2021: Clara is dancing for Norwegian Creative Studios aboard the Oceania Marina.

Clara Morna Freitas received her formal dance training at The Academy of Dance Arts, in Downers Grove, Il. At The Academy, Clara studied all forms of dance for 16 years. Under the close mentorship of Sherry Moray and Ricky Ruiz, Clara furthered her training in ballet and contemporary. Clara began teaching and choreographing at the age of 16. As a pre-professional dancer, Clara had the opportunity to perform with the Illinois Ballet Theatre, The American Spirit Dance Company and The Academy of Dance Alliance competitive team. To further her training, Clara attended dance intensives with River North Dance Chicago, The Boston Conservatory and the New York City Dance Alliance allowing her to learn from top industry professionals.

In 2018, Clara joined Aerial Dance Chicago in the creation of their evening-length work Blackbird, as an Apprentice Dancer. In 2018, Clara also performed as an ensemble dancer for Hanna Brictson and Dancers in her piece My Darling at Dance For Life Chicago and Chicago Ideas Week. In 2019, Clara became a certified barre instructor through The Dailey Method and teaches in her hometown of Wheaton, Il.  The year 2019 marked the beginning of Clara's journey at sea with Norwegian Creative Studios/NCLH.
